What You Should Know About Using Rugs in Your Home

Rugs can be found in many homes in Nigeria. Rugs can lend a vibrant contrast to your curtains, while both complement each other appropriately.

Although the use of marble tiles are getting more popular in modern homes, rugs still have their place. They lend a warm, cozy feel to a room. In a home with concrete or tile flooring, the floor is hard and usually cold. Rugs provide warmth and comfort to the feet. Even with tiles, many still use rugs in some parts of the house. Some rugs can cover the whole living room or space, while some are only for specific areas. The latter is known as the area rug.

One major way of maintaining rugs is by constant sweeping because specks of materials and dirt tend to easily get stuck in rug fabrics. Vacuuming should also be done to ensure tidiness. With rugs, mopping is not required, but one has to be careful in handling water because rugs absorb water easily, causing a musty odour if not properly dried.

Woven Rug

The rug is made on a loom, which is similar to woven fabric. Normally many coloured yarns are used to make this pattern. These carpets are usually the most expensive because the manufacturing process is time-consuming.
