Nigerian Celebrities react to Lekki Garden’s 5 Storey building collapse.

On Tuesday, March 8, 2016, a five-storey building under construction on kushenla road, Ikate Elegushi collapsed leaving not less than 34 persons dead, the said building had been previously sealed by LASG for exceeding approved floors but the owners had gone against the law unsealing the property to continue building beyond the approved and has now led to the loss of many lives.

Following the detention of the Property merchant , Richard Nyong the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Lekki Gardens, whose company is in charge of the said building, a few Nigerian celebrities have expressed their disapproval of how the CEO was handcuffed, taken to prison and remanded in Prison, a few of the celebrities that voiced out concerns are;

‘It will not be wrong to say that my judgement can be crowded by my emotions on the recent happening with Lekki Gardens as Mr. Richard Nyong, the MD is a friend. I must sincerely express my deep and heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the families of the deceased and those injured in the collapsed building.’

I have no qualms seeing a young man who committed a crime pay for that crime but Richard shouldn’t have been taken to court in handcuffs and remanded in prison when that ‘prophet’ whose building collapsed and killed more people than Ebola is walking free.

 Richard Nyong, 34, is a graduate of Economics from the University of Port Harcourt, a product of Pastor Sam Adeyemi’s Daystar Leadership Academy who sits on the board of several blue-chip companies. He is said to have over a decade worth of experience in the real estate sector.
